I think you have the right say exactly what you want, and how you want to.
I'm afriad anyone who beats up old ladies, children etc are out of the social contract and deserve some of their own behaviour.

Its far too easy for them to cry foul and then get preferential or reduced or no punishments as a result.
We a few kids (13-16) around here that are always playing up in the evenings. Where are their parents? In the bloody pub. The Devil finds work for idle hands...

I know that to some extent you are correct there is fault with the parenting - the role models themselves dont appear to know right from wrong. However, there comes an age of criminal responsibility and in law it is assumed that by this age people do know right from wrong.
